Footwear Manufacturing FAQ
Answers to common questions from brands, importers, and retailers about working with QD Bestrade as their footwear manufacturer. If your question isn’t covered here, please contact us and our team will reply within 12 hours.
What types of footwear do you manufacture?
We manufacture sneakers and casual shoes, safety shoes and work boots, slippers and home footwear, kids’ shoes, and snow boots. We provide both OEM (production to your design) and ODM (design and development support) services across all of these categories.
Do you work with new brands or only large companies?
Both. We support emerging brands launching their first collection with small-batch development runs, as well as established retailers and importers running high-volume programs. Our team can guide first-time brands through the entire development and sampling process.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the style, materials, and level of customization. Simpler white-label styles have lower minimums, while fully custom private-label development may require higher quantities. Contact us with your specific project and we will confirm the exact MOQ.
Can you produce shoes under my own brand?
Yes. We offer full private-label and white-label manufacturing, including custom logos, branded insoles, custom packaging, hangtags, and retail-ready presentation. We manufacture exclusively for you and never resell your designs to other buyers.
Do you offer samples before bulk production?
Yes. We produce samples for your review and approval before any bulk order begins. Sampling lets you confirm materials, fit, construction, and branding. Sample costs and timelines depend on the complexity of the design.
What are your typical lead times?
Lead times depend on the product, order quantity, and customization, and on whether the project requires new development. After sample approval, bulk production timelines are planned around your launch dates. Contact us with your timeline and we will provide an estimate.
What certifications does your factory have?
Our production is backed by BSCI social compliance and ISO 9001 quality management, and we produce CSA-certified safety footwear for North American markets. These help brands and importers meet their own retailer and customs requirements.
Where is your factory located?
Our footwear production is based in Qingdao, China, and we operate a commercial office in Toronto, Canada. This gives brands factory-direct pricing together with responsive, English-speaking project management.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) means we build footwear to your existing designs and specifications. ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) means our team helps design and develop new models with you. We offer both depending on how much development support you need.
How do I get started?
Contact us with your designs or product ideas, target quantities, required certifications, and timeline. We will respond within 12 hours with pricing, MOQ, and next steps for development and sampling.
Who is QD Bestrade?
QD Bestrade is a footwear OEM/ODM manufacturing partner for retailers, importers, buying offices and private-label brands. We are based in Toronto, Canada, and support China-based footwear manufacturing for sneakers, casual shoes, safety footwear, slippers, kids shoes and snow boots.
Do you support retail and private-label footwear programs?
Yes. QD Bestrade supports retail and private-label footwear programs from design review and sampling through production, quality control, packaging and export coordination. We work with buyers that need reliable footwear manufacturing capacity rather than marketplace selling or brand distribution.
Do you sell your own footwear brand?
No. QD Bestrade does not focus on selling its own consumer footwear brand. Our business is OEM/ODM production support for retailers, importers and private-label brands that need footwear manufactured under their own brand or program requirements.
Can you support North American retailers and importers?
Yes. QD Bestrade has a Toronto office and supports North American retailers, importers and footwear buyers with English-language communication, development coordination, production follow-up, quality control and export documentation.
What information should a buyer send for a footwear quote?
For an accurate quotation, buyers should send reference images or tech packs, target materials, size range, expected quantity, branding or packaging requirements, certification needs and target delivery date. This helps us confirm MOQ, sampling time, bulk production lead time and estimated cost.
